How to Access My Credit Score

It couldn’t be easier to use My Credit Score on your desktop or mobile device!

Learn how to access My Credit Score from our WPCU Mobile App or from Online Banking:

  • WPCU Mobile App:
    Log in to the WPCU Mobile App. From the home screen, simply tap the More menu and then select My Credit Score.
  • WPCU Online Banking
    Once you log in to Online Banking, select My Credit Score from the top navigation bar menu.

We've compiled a number of My Credit Score Frequently Asked Questions to help you navigate this new tool, helping you borrow smarter.

My Credit Score (by SavvyMoney®) is a digital tool where you will see and learn all about your credit score with no impact to your score. You may even receive personalized financially healthy lending offers from WPCU like reducing your interest costs or lowering your monthly payments! With My Credit Score, you receive your latest credit score and report, an understanding of key factors that impact your score, and financial wellness resources to help you borrow smarter.

My Credit Score also monitors your credit report daily and is displayed on the “My Accounts” page within Online Banking. You may also navigate to the “Manage Money” tab and select “My Credit Score” to view as well. If you are using our WPCU mobile app, simply access “My Credit Score” by selecting the “More” menu. You may also receive email alerts, if there are changes detected. Customize your settings to receive alerts like a new account being opened, a change in address or employment, that a delinquency has been reported or an inquiry has been made. Monitoring your credit score helps you keep an eye out for identity theft.

My Credit Score’s credit report provides you all the information you would find on your credit file, including a list of current or previous loans, credit accounts and credit inquiries. You will also be able to see details on your payment history, credit utilization and public records which show up on your account. When you check your credit report through My Credit Score, there will be no impact to your score.

The Score Simulator is an interactive tool that allows you to select various actions you may take and see how those actions could impact your credit score. Different actions, like paying off a credit card balance, might make your score move up or down. Just like checking your credit score through My Credit Score, using the simulator does not affect your actual credit score.

No. As a value-added benefit of membership at Wright-Patt Credit Union, there is no cost to use the My Credit Score service, and no credit card information is required to enroll.

As long as you regularly access Mobile and Online Banking, your credit score will be automatically updated every 7 days. You are also able to manually refresh your credit score and full credit report every 24 hours. Simply click on “Refresh Score” by navigating to the detailed Credit Score Dashboard from within Mobile and Online Banking.

My Credit Score uses a soft pull of your credit profile from TransUnion, one of the three major credit reporting bureaus, and uses VantageScore 3.0, a credit scoring model developed collaboratively by the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. This model seeks to make score information more uniform between the three bureaus to provide consumers a better picture of their credit health.

There are three major credit-reporting bureaus—Equifax, Experian and Transunion—and two scoring models—FICO or VantageScore—that determine credit scores. Financial institutions use different bureaus, and some use their own scoring models. Over 200 factors of a credit report may be considered when calculating a score and each model may weigh credit factors differently, so no scoring model is completely identical. However, they should generally be similar.

No, WPCU will perform a credit bureau pull at the time of application, and WPCU uses its own lending criteria when making final loan decisions. However, My Credit Score can show you estimated savings opportunities on new and existing loans. Final rate, term, monthly payment, and other aspects of the loan will be determined once your application has been reviewed and processed.

My Credit Score by SavvyMoney will not share your credit information with anyone other than WPCU. If you would like to share your credit report with any trusted 3rd party, you can easily download your credit report by navigating to the “Credit Report” tab and clicking “Download Report.”

My Credit Score by SavvyMoney uses the highest standard to protect your data and information. SavvyMoney will only share your personal information back with WPCU and will never share or sell your data to 3rd parties.

My Credit Score can help you manage your credit so when it comes time to borrow money —like buying a home, car, or paying for college—you have a clear picture of your credit health. You will receive financial wellness resources and tips to help you borrow smarter and may receive WPCU savings opportunities as well.

My Credit Score makes its best effort to show you the most relevant information from your credit report. If you think some of the information is wrong or inaccurate, we encourage you to take advantage of obtaining free credit reports from www.annualcreditreport.com, and then contacting each bureau individually. Each bureau has its own process for correcting inaccurate information, but every member can “File a Dispute” by clicking on the “Dispute” link within their credit report. However, the Federal Trade Commission website offers step-by-step instructions on how to contact the bureaus and correct errors.

Based on your My Credit Score information, you may receive WPCU personalized offers (invitation to apply) on products that may be of interest to you. These offers may have lower interest rates than the products you already have or may save you money on your monthly payments. The educational articles, written by Jean Chatzky and the SavvyMoney team, along with the WPCU Education Center, are designed to provide helpful tips on how you can manage credit and debt wisely.

No. Checking My Credit Score within Mobile and Online Banking is always a “soft inquiry”, which does not affect your credit score. Typically, lenders use ‘hard inquiries’ to make decisions about your credit worthiness when you apply for loans.

Yes. After you have enrolled in My Credit Score for the first time, you will receive email alerts when there has been a change to your credit profile. When applicable, you can also find these monitoring alerts displayed within “My Credit Score” when logged into Mobile or Online Banking.

If you access My Credit Score through Mobile and Online Banking, you are all set! No further action is required from you! Your email address will get updated automatically in My Credit Score when you update it within My Contact Information.

Yes, you can easily choose when you’ll receive an email about your credit score. Navigate to the “Resources” tab and then under “Profile Settings” you can choose which email notifications you’ll receive. My Credit Score sends out three types of emails: Credit Monitoring Alerts, General Messages, and Monthly Notices. You will be automatically enrolled in all email communications and can easily unselect the specific email types you do not wish to receive.

Yes, My Credit Score is available on mobile and tablet devices and is integrated within Mobile and Online Banking.

You may be asked to re-enroll in My Credit Score after 120 days of inactivity.

No. My Credit Score enrollment is only available for members with a valid SSN.
