Looking for Associate Directors to Advise the WPCU Board
Wright-Patt Credit Union, Inc. (WPCU®) is seeking individuals to become Associate Directors to advise its Board of Directors on key issues and matters of strategic importance.
The WPCU Board of Directors is responsible for five key items: (1) hiring & managing the CEO, (2) collaboratively setting the strategy and objectives with the management team, (3) establishing risk appetites, (4) setting policies for fulfilling the credit union’s purpose and (5) providing oversight on behalf of the members.
Associate Directors are a strong group of experts with specific skills that qualify them to provide advice, counsel, and insight in support of the WPCU Board of Directors and/or credit union committee deliberations. Associate Directors may be considered as future Board members.
Expectations and Requirements
The WPCU Board of Directors believes new talent and ideas create an optimal environment for critical thinking that leads to informed decision making. A strong group of Associate Directors brings new voices to the table while preparing its members to be potential future directors.
Associate Directors must be members of WPCU. It is expected that Associate Directors be informed, engaged participants at monthly, quarterly, and/or special meetings. In addition, members are encouraged to attend a two-day planning session held each year.
WPCU is looking for Associate Directors with expertise that includes:
- Information technology
- Information security
- Financial management
- Financial auditing
- Risk management
- Economics
- Artificial intelligence
- C-suite executive experience
Associate Directors must possess leadership attributes that include:
- Independent judgment
- Conceptual thinking skills
- Willingness to act
- Commitment to quality relationships
- Teamwork skills
- Influencing skills
- Communication skills
- Capacity to challenge in a productive manner
