WPCU SCF Scholarship Window Now Open

​Beavercreek, OH – The WPCU Sunshine Community Fund  – the charitable giving arm of Wright-Patt Credit Union® (WPCU®) – is pleased to announce the application window for the $2,500 Douglas A. Fecher “Excellence in Learning" Scholarship has been extended until May 3, 2024.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must:

  • Be either a second-semester high school senior expected to graduate at the end of the semester and subsequently attend either Wright State University or the University of Cincinnati or be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at either Wright State University or the University of Cincinnati.
  • Be a Wright-Patt Credit Union member at the time of application submission.
  • Complete the required application, available at www.wpcu.coop/about-us/scf-scholarship

The recipients of the scholarships will be selected by the WPCU Sunshine Community Fund Board of Trustees and announced no later than July 2024.

The scholarship program is named in honor of WPCU's former President/CEO, Doug Fecher, who throughout his career, committed himself to helping Main Street Ohioans live the lives they wanted to live. Fecher, a proud University of Cincinnati graduate, exemplified a servant-hearted leadership approach to his life, and this included the time he spent at Wright State University serving as a Board Trustee and a former Chair.

Each year, the available scholarships will be awarded to at least two applicants deemed the most qualified based on the stated criteria at the WPCU Sunshine Community Fund's sole discretion, provided that selection will be made without regard to the applicants' race, color, religious belief, national origin, sex, marital status, age, or physical handicap. By submitting an application, the student, and if the student is a minor the student's parent(s) or guardian(s), consent to the WPCU Sunshine Community Fund and/or its affiliates publishing the student's name and image in announcing the award of a scholarship to the student, in the event that student is selected for a scholarship award.
