WPCU® Experts Share Thoughtful Perspectives On How to Approach Retirement
Read the below article to see what Ivy Glover, Director of Community and Social Impact, and Steve Harrell, VP of Retirement Solutions, had to say about retirement. They share helpful insights about the challenges many current and upcoming retirees are facing.
Steve Harrell shared that “Maybe 10% of what we see are people who come back and say, ‘Hey, either I need to adjust my spending habits or things are costing more.’ And so they will maybe take a part-time income or job.” This highlights the growing economic pressure many retirees are facing.
Ivy Glover adds, “it’s important to do a true, not just month to month payment plan or budget, but a true budget outlook on what is the ebb and flow of my lifestyle financially that then I’m going to want to be able to account for.” Ivy points out that many budgets can be compartmentalized. But that when planning for something like retirement, it’s important to account for all the variables.
