Fraud Alert: Beware of Impersonation Text Messages Claiming to Be WPCU®
Wright-Patt Credit Union® (WPCU®) is alerting members to an increase in scam text messages falsely posing as WPCU. These messages often claim there is suspicious activity or a pending charge on your account and urge you to “Reply 1” to approve or click the link to cancel the transaction.

Do not reply OR click on any links included in these fraudulent text messages. They are fraudulent and designed to trick you into sharing sensitive personal or account information.
Important Reminder:
WPCU will never unexpectedly contact you by text, phone, or email to ask for:
- Your online banking password
- PINs or security codes
- Personal or account details
Any message requesting this information is fraud.
If You Receive a Suspicious Text or Call
Even if the message appears urgent or looks legitimate, do not:
- Provide personal or financial information
- Click on links or download attachments
- Call phone numbers listed in the message
- Enter information on linked websites
Fraudsters often rely on fear and urgency to prompt quick action. Here’s what you should do instead:
- Delete the message immediately
- Hang up if you receive a suspicious phone call
- Contact Wright-Patt Credit Union using a trusted number:
- (937) 912-7000
- (800) 762-0047
- Visit WPCU.coop and log in to Online Banking directly and securely
