Credit unions are here to serve their members rather than make revenue for their investors. Our “stakeholders” are people like you who live, work and play in the areas we serve. They are our neighbors, the fans sitting on the bleachers next to us cheering on a little league baseball game, fellow co-workers, and local employers. They are our members! Member Eligibility

  • Individuals who live, work, worship or attend school in Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Licking, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Preble, Shelby, Union or Warren Counties in Ohio.
  • Military and civilian employees of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
  • Military personnel residing in a 14-county area adjacent to the Fairborn area who do not have a credit union available.
  • Wright State University students, faculty, staff, and Alumni.
  • Select groups made up of people associated through employment, geographic location, or other organizational affiliation.
  • Spouses, children, and certain other relatives of current WPCU members.

Business Eligibility

A business applying for WPCU membership must be located within WPCU’s field of membership to be considered for membership.

To be approved for WPCU membership, a Business must:

  • be registered in the state of Ohio, if required (Some Businesses operating in Ohio are not required to register with the secretary of state. In those cases, WPCU may choose to make an exception for membership approval);
  • be in good standing with the Ohio Secretary of State if registered in Ohio (or in their state of primary registration, if not Ohio);
  • have or be building a principal place of business in WPCU’s field of membership; and
  • be in good financial standing with WPCU, i.e., not have caused a financial loss to the Credit Union. In the case of sole proprietorships, the individual’s financial loss is considered a business loss.

A Legacy of Working Together History

In the early 1930’s, workers at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio decided to chip in 25¢ a week to help an ailing co-worker and his struggling family. Recognizing a great idea, they later took a quarter each payday to create a fund for fellow workers who might also one day need help. It was called “The Sunshine Fund”. It was this shoebox of money that evolved to become today’s Wright-Patt Credit Union. Our story is about the power of people working together to help one another and become stronger as a whole.

Inappropriate or disrespectful actions or comments are not acceptable from anyone associated with the WPCU/myCU community – members, employees, vendors, or guests. Harassment, racism, sexism, homophobia, or mistreatment of anyone, of any kind and for any reason, is not tolerated and may result in termination of membership, restricted access to WPCU/myCU services, termination of third-party associations, or termination of employment for employees.  

Examples include, but are not limited to: 

  • Racist, sexist, religious, ethnic, or other discriminatory language, including stereotyping, slurs, jokes, or hostile graphic/written material
  • Sexual harassment
  • Photographing, videotaping, or recording our partners, members or premises without proper consent
  • Verbal or physical threats
  • Disruptive and/or aggressive behavior or dialogue, including bullying behavior, such as:
    • Interfering with or damaging WPCU/myCU property such as desk items, workstations, tools, or equipment
    • Name-calling of any kind
    • Abusive language
    • Threatening to harm property
  • Threatening to use any object or weapon against another person
  • Any behaviors or comments that humiliate, intimidate, or demean an individual

Should any partner, member, or guest of WPCU/myCU experience harassment or discrimination, we will actively investigate to understand the situation and seek a timely resolution. We will treat everyone involved fairly and transparently and seek to understand all sides of any incident. Wright-Patt Credit Union strives to be the best place our partners & members have ever experienced, and we must work together to create a welcoming environment for all.
