WPCU Partner-Employees Focused on Becoming P.E.A.C.E. Promoters

In celebration of Black History Month, WPCU partner-employees have unified around the concept of being P.E.A.C.E. promoters. What exactly does P.E.A.C.E. mean for us? It is an acronym that stands for pause – engage – acknowledge – care – empathize.

  • Pause – Take a moment to reflect on what you and others may be feeling, thinking, or experiencing.
  • Engage – Be intentionally and respectfully curious about the experience of others.
  • Acknowledge – Acknowledge one another, a situation, your strengths and opportunities to grow.
  • Care – Listen with understanding and empathy, express patience and concern toward one another.
  • Empathize – Intentionally consider a person’s perspective, experience and how a situation may impact them.

"In spite of our many differences and unique perspectives, we are all here to serve one mission, to help people through life,” shared Ivy Glover, Director of Social Impact. “Especially in challenging times, we recognize this requires finding connection and common ground in the values that help us to best serve one another,” Glover stated.

We are all focused on all being P.E.A.C.E. promoters within and outside of the organization. Throughout the year we will be focusing on various activities and engagements that help demonstrate our commitment to promoting an environment where we all feel safe, valued, respected and considered.
