It all started with a shoebox. A shoebox and a servant heart to help others. In the early 1930s, when a worker at Wright Field fell ill and his family struggled to make ends meet, his coworkers chipped in 25 cents each week to lend a helping hand. Recognizing a great idea, the workers continued to donate a quarter from each paycheck to create a fund for others who, one day, might also need help. It was called the Sunshine Fund. That small shoebox of money would evolve to what we now know as Wright-Patt Credit Union. Today, Wright-Patt Credit Union remains committed to those same values and ideals: people helping people. Through the tough times, we help our members weather financial storms by teaching them how to be more financially resilient. And through the good times, we help them achieve financial flexibility and freedom, so they can live the life they want to live. Today's Wright-Patt Credit Union serves more than military members. As a community-based credit union, we welcome anyone who lives, works, attends school, or worships in most areas of Southwest and Central Ohio. We support the communities, the charities, and the many important causes of the people we are proud to serve. And we give our members so much more than great rates and low to no fees. We equip them with the education, tools, and resources needed to live their life to the fullest. From a small shoebox to one of the most respected credit unions in our country, times have changed, but our purpose never will. Wright-Patt Credit Union is committed to helping people reach their goals and strengthening our communities. We are Wright-Patt Credit Union.
