Don't fall for fraud! Spot scams targeting older adults. Wright-Patt Credit Union, Inc. Hi, I’m Jason Frantz, Vice President of Fraud Risk Management at Wright-Patt Credit Union, back with more fraud awareness tips. Did you know? While anyone can get scammed, older adults are more likely to be targeted and lose more money to fraud than any other age group. Today, we’re sharing some tips to help older adults spot scams: First, watch out for fraudsters pretending to be familiar businesses and brands, including your credit union. Do not share your account information. Remember, Wright-Patt Credit Union will never call, email, or text asking to confirm your login or account numbers — like this phony message! Look for Red Flags: False numbers, rushed actions, unfamiliar links. Scammers will also use fear tactics to trick older adults into acting quickly. If you receive an unexpected, urgent message, slow down and think it through. When in doubt, don’t respond, click, or act! Think you may be the victim of a scam? Don’t be afraid to tell someone and ask for help! Please call Wright-Patt Credit Union immediately if you suspect fraud. We can help you secure your account so you can breathe a big sigh of relief.
