Debit Card Assurance | Wright-Patt Credit Union

Relax, your WPCU debit card is protected.

In order to assure the security of your accounts, we may require you to use your 4-digit PIN (choose debit vs credit) to complete your purchases at certain merchants in areas where we have identified fraudulent activity. These situations are temporary and are for the security and dependability of your banking experience.

Continue to use your card as you normally do, but if you find it is not working please choose to process the transaction as a "debit" purchase versus "credit."

Zero-Liability Protection

Wright-Patt Credit Union will not hold you responsible for unauthorized use of your Debit Card.* Certain limitations apply and we always recommend you utilize Wright-Patt’s home or mobile banking or Call-24 to periodically check your Wright-Patt accounts and notify us immediately if you identify any unusual activity by calling (937) 912-7000 or toll-free at (800) 762-0047.

Need to reset your PIN?

If you need to reset your PIN, simply call (800) 899-4042 to ensure access to your account is not interrupted.

Preventing fraud on your account

The safety of our members’ accounts is extremely important to us. We also want to assure you that accounts are being monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for suspicious activity. We have implemented enhanced monitoring programs to specifically watch for suspected fraud on debit cards.

Please be sure we have your current phone number on your account in the event we need to contact you regarding any suspicious transactions on your account. You can update your contact information by calling our Member Help Center at (937) 912-7000 or toll-free at (800) 762-0047.

What should I do if I find fraudulent transactions on my statement?

We recommend that you review your account statement carefully each month to detect any suspicious account activity. If you suspect fraudulent ATM/Debit Card activity on your account, call us immediately at (937) 912-7000 or (800) 762-0047.

What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

If your WPCU debit card is lost or stolen, please call (800) 762-0047 if it is after-hours, immediately. You can also report your card as lost or stolen by calling our audio response system, Call-24, at (800) 336-7277 and selecting #7 from the main menu, then sub-menu #4 for debit cards.

*Your liability for the unauthorized use of your Card at a Debit/POS merchant is as follows: You will have zero liability for the unauthorized use of your Card provided: (1) you used reasonable care in safeguarding the Card from risk of loss or theft; (2) you have not reported two or more incidents of unauthorized use to the Credit Union in the immediately preceding 12 month period; and (3) your account is in good standing. In all other situations, the maximum liability for unauthorized transactions at a Debit/POS merchant will be $50.00.
